STEAMY WONDERS: DEVELOPING INTERACTIVE INFOGRAPHICS AND CHALLENGE-BASED RESOURCES FOR WOMEN IN STEM
OVERVIEW
The Steamy Wonders project provides access to to a series of challenge-based STEM resources to inspire women to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, and maths and help combat the widespread female underrepresentation in scientific jobs. Ludovica successfully led the development of the Steamy Wonders MOOC working iteratively with UX/UI designers and web developers, prototyping, designing and testing to regularly improve product functionality and usability.
LUDOVICA'S ROLE
• Had regular meetings, outlined to-do-lists, prioritized information flows and developed Social Media Strategy.
• Worked closely with teams of project managers, researchers, copywriters, translators and web designers on multiple creative workstreams.
• Created web structures, sitemaps and Excel spreadsheet to guide technical teams in the development of web pages.
• Ran multiple Google Forms to collect user feebdack, analysing results and reporting accordingly to enable rapid adaptation and adjustment.
• Developed Stakeholder Mapping to identify and prioritize stakeholder engagement.
• Tested the product with final users in Germany and Croatia.
• Conducted a workshop in Croatia​.​
RESULTS
• Participants in testing surveys mentioned that the MOOC platform was “visually appealing” and “easy to navigate”.
• Held two workshops with final users in two countries, Germany and Croatia.
• 90% of participants confirmed their willingness to integrate the training into their educational practices.
• Reduced potential risks by improving quality, communication and performance.
• Maximised engagement across social media by 30% and improved publication efficiency among partners to achieve dissemination goals.​
• Reached 150+ key local stakeholders at Reetzival in Brandenburg.
